Let’s face it. Alfred Hitchcock was right - we’re all voyeurs. The difference is our Rear Window has been replaced by a computer screen and Grace Kelly with street style blogs. Yes it’s completely superficial, but like all bad habits, fashion blogs have become addictive. While many of these sites aren’t worth the html they ‘re uploaded on, there are a special few that have managed to continually capture the well-dressed masses.
Scott Schumann’s The Satorialist www.thesartorialist.blogspot.com has been chronicling New York’s street style since late 2005. Scott’s fashion pedigree - in marketing for Valentino, and as a representative for Helmut Lang and Gaultier - means his shots are frequently accompanied by snappy fashion commentary. The Satorialist has now become a mini-celebrity in his own right. His site has been selected as one of Time’s ‘Top 100 Design Influences’ and the man regularly attends fashion weeks in Milan and Paris, where (you guessed it) his camera follows. It seems that Scott’s only vice is a penchant for capturing models offhand outside fashion festivals, but dammit, they do look amazing.

I love the Satorialist! Its a site I visit daily. A couple of other style sites I check in on regularly are:
http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/
and
http://creature_comforts.typepad.com/
both are fantastic! Go fug yourself is hilarious, and Creature Comforts is a great shopping guide - I have found some gorgeous purchases via that blog.

Whoops, I just realised it was up there. One more: London Street Fashion. The site layout with the little Tube map is fun.

Posted by: Alicia at June 1st, 2007 1:04 pmI like Missy Confidential and I hope it really grows and develops to be a definitive fashion guide for Australia. One style site, which shall remain nameless, is like the bermuda triangle -it’s so dark and complex and as soon as I post something, there it goes…down the tube that leads to nowhere. I can never find my posts or retrieve threads to my posts. I gave up on it once, gave it another chance and posted some more recently but I just gave up. It’s probably me and I just can’t hack it but I can’t go on struggling with a fasion site ’cause it’s supposed to be fun and one of my forms of relaxation. So I’m sticking to Missy for now.

Here’s another local blog that might tickle your street-style fancy:
